Sonoraville senior wide receiver Langston Butler officially signed a scholarship to play football at Shorter University on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026.

Butler’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. His junior season was cut short by an injury that required surgery, but Phoenix head football coach Denver Pate praised him as “an overcomer” for his determination and resilience.

Returning stronger than ever, Butler’s senior season was nothing short of spectacular. He recorded 59 receptions for 918 yards and 11 touchdowns, setting Sonoraville school records for both receiving yards and touchdowns in a single season.

With his talent and drive, Butler is poised to make an immediate impact at Shorter University as he continues his football career at the collegiate level.
