Storms Cause Scattered Power Outages Across NGEMC Service Area

North Georgia Electric Membership Corporation (NGEMC) is reporting scattered power outages across its service area as storms continue to move through the region early Monday morning.

As of 4:50 a.m. on Monday, March 16, a total of 2,293 households, businesses, and other facilities were without power due to 65 separate outages, according to NGEMC officials. The utility expects the number of outages to increase as severe weather continues.

NGEMC crews are responding to outages as conditions allow them to work safely. Officials say crews will be working around the clock throughout the day to restore power as quickly as possible.

Estimated restoration times for all outages will be determined once crews are able to assess storm-related damage across the service area. As that information becomes available, estimated restoration times for individual outages will be posted on NGEMC’s live outage map.

Customers experiencing outages are encouraged to report them using NGEMC’s automated phone system or by logging into their online NGEMC account, which are available 24 hours a day.

Residents can monitor outages and restoration updates by visiting the NGEMC outage map at: https://www2.ngemc.com/.
