Calhoun defeated Luella High School 79-74 on Tuesday night to advance to the second round of the GHSA State Basketball Tournament. In a hard-fought matchup, the Jackets outlasted Luella in a high-scoring contest to keep their postseason run alive.
With the win, Calhoun moves on to Round 2, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28. The game will be played at Calhoun High School. The opponent and tip-off time have yet to be announced.
The Jackets’ victory keeps their state title hopes intact as they prepare to host the next round in front of their home crowd.
