A house in the New Town area was completely destroyed by a fire late last week.
According to the Gordon County Fire & Rescue (GCF&R), crews were dispatched just before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2025, to 230 Town Creek Drive NE in Calhoun following reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found the home fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters launched an immediate attack on the blaze, with two personnel entering the structure to ensure no one was inside. Fortunately, the home was unoccupied at the time.
Crews worked to extinguish the fire and carried out overhaul and salvage operations. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the property has been deemed a total loss.
