June 18, 2025 — Georgia’s Public Service Commission races are taking shape following yesterday’s primary election results.
In the Republican primary for District 2, incumbent Tim Echols secured a decisive victory over challenger Lee Muns, earning more than 76% of the vote. Echols now advances to the November General Election, where he will face Democrat Alicia M. Johnson. Johnson ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.
In District 3, Republican Fritz Johnson also ran unopposed in his primary and will move on to the General Election. On the Democratic side, Keisha Sean Waites won her party’s nomination with more than 46% of the vote, setting up a head-to-head contest with Johnson in the fall.
The General Election is scheduled for November 4, 2025.
