Calhoun, GA — Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) has honored Tracey Mercado, program director and instructor of Medical Assisting, as the institution’s 2025 Alumna of the Year.
Mercado has been a key member of GNTC’s faculty and administration since 2022, serving as program director and instructor, as well as assistant dean of Nursing and Allied Health Technologies. Her journey at GNTC began as a student, where she earned an associate degree in Medical Office Management and a diploma in Medical Assisting in 2011. She later completed a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Reinhardt University in 2019.
The Alumna of the Year award recognizes Mercado’s dedication to her students and her contributions to the GNTC community, highlighting a career built on both academic achievement and professional excellence in healthcare education.
