Calhoun City Council Approves Six-Month Ban on New Convenience Stores

At its most recent meeting, the Calhoun City Council approved a six-month moratorium on new convenience store permits. The move mirrors actions taken by other local governments in response to concerns over state-approved slot machines, marijuana product sales, and alcohol-related issues. City Attorney George Govignon recommended the pause, which will not affect applications already in progress.
