GORDON COUNTY, GA — Deputy sheriffs and officers from the Department of Community Supervision concluded their operation on Buck Boulevard yesterday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of illegal items from the home.

The investigation began around noon on Tuesday when deputies discovered a suspicious device while searching the residence of a State probationer. The Floyd County EOD Unit responded, safely removing the device using a remotely controlled robot. The device will now be examined by the ATF.

Jacob Austin McAfee, 34, of 879 Buck Boulevard, was arrested at the scene. McAfee, who was on probation from a previous felony conviction in Bartow County and reportedly on bond for another arrest in Cherokee County, is facing charges related to a hazardous incendiary device and firearms violations.

A second individual, Dianna Le McAfee, was also taken into custody after officers found a stolen firearm and methamphetamine in the home. Both defendants are in jail as of Wednesday morning.

Sheriff Mitch Ralston emphasized that Tuesday’s arrests were part of a broader investigation conducted in coordination with the Department of Community Supervision and thanked the Floyd County EOD Unit for their assistance.
