Calhoun, GA — The Voluntary Action Center (VAC) is celebrating a major milestone this year as it kicks off the 50th anniversary of Operation Happy Christmas, a beloved local tradition dedicated to spreading holiday cheer to children and families in need.

As the program enters its golden year, VAC is encouraging community members to get an early start on the season of giving by pledging their support now. Organizers hope to secure 500 sponsors by the end of July, allowing ample time to plan and expand their outreach.

“Early support makes all the difference,” said a VAC spokesperson. “It gives us the time and resources to reach more families and ensure every child experiences the joy of the holidays.”

Those interested in becoming a sponsor can register beginning July 1 by scanning the QR code found on promotional materials or by calling the center at 706-629-7283.

For five decades, Operation Happy Christmas has brought warmth, gifts, and holiday spirit to countless families across the region. With community support, the VAC aims to make this year’s campaign the most impactful yet.
