    Expect power outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.

    Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should consider delaying all travelSaturday and Sunday. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP CLASS ATTENDS COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING

The Gordon County Board of Commissioners welcomed the Gordon County Chamber of Commerce’s 2025–2026 Youth Leadership class during its meeting on Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, 2025.

Now in its 30th year, the Youth Leadership program has been offered for 31 years and has graduated roughly 1,300 high school juniors and seniors. Members of this year’s class attended the meeting as part of their ongoing leadership and civic engagement activities.
