Agnes McCord, beloved West Rome Wal-Mart door greeter, passed away July 23, 2025, after a battle with cancer.
She was born September 18, 1948, in Rome, GA, daughter of Albert Leslie Boozer, Sr. and Hattie Hopkins Boozer. She loved bringing smiles and laughs to all the customers and employees every day, and oftentimes could be found dancing throughout the store. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed taking road trips with her daughter and watching her favorite television show, “Perry Mason”. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy McCord, her parents, her half-sister, Emline Davenport, her half-brother, Albert Leslie Boozer, Jr. aka "Junior", and two brothers, Gene Boozer and Billy Boozer.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy William Shaw, Jr.; her daughter, Crystal McCord; a brother, Robert Boozer of Minnesota; a sister, Patsy Duvall of Kingston; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will have a small gathering to celebrate her life at a later date.
