Anita Owens Harris

Anita Owens Harris, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026. She was born on September 30, 1941, to the late Gene Owens and Ruby Roberts Owens.

Anita was a devoted wife, stepmother and grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was known for her kind heart, warm spirit, and the love that she shared so freely. She found joy in spending time with her family and touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She loved the Lord and was a devoted church member of Opportunity Baptist Church in Chatsworth, Ga. up until her health began to decline.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Harris; sister and brother-in-law, Glenese and Frank Campbell; and step-son-in-law, Donny Ray.

Anita is survived by her step-daughters, Lori Ray and PeggyMuse (David); step-grandchildren, Sarah Zinsmeister (Brad), Joshua Ray (Michelle), Jennifer Ray; step-great-grandchildren, Braelyn Howard, Ava and Ashton Zinmeister, Layla Smith Lilly Ray, Lacey and Kyleigh Allen; nephew, Jeffrey Campbell; nieces, Jennifer Bearden, Jeana Campbell, Jamie Mullinax; and other great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

A private burial will be held in New Cannan Baptist Church Cemetery in McCaysville, Georgia, at a later date.
