Dorothy Ann Hayes, age 76 of Fairmount, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Kindred Hospital of Chattanooga, TN.
Dorothy was born on September 21, 1948 in Pickens County, GA, daughter of the late James West and Gladys Young West. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by: her husband, Donald Hayes; and son, Chris Hayes. Dorothy worked as a terminal agency coordinator for the Gordon County Sheriff's Department for 38 years. She enjoyed bird watching, especially hummingbirds.
Dorothy is survived by: her daughter, Misty (Brian Pass) Hayes; brother, Lamar (Renee) West; grandchild, Brittany Hayes; and her cat, Hemi.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 1 PM until 3 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
A Private Graveside service will be held with Mike Jones in charge of graveside rites.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Gordon County Sheriff's Department.
