Durham William “Butch” Richards
October 22, 1944 — November 10, 2025

Durham Willaim “Butch” Richards Jr., age 81, of Calhoun, passed away Monday, November 10th, at his residence.

Butch was born on October 22, 1944, in Calhoun, the son of the late Durham William Richards, Sr., and Essie Lee Jones Richards. Butch loved working with and helping anyone in need. Before his retirement, he was employed by Battlefield Building Supply and attended the Agape Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Balliew Richards, his son, Christopher Richards, and his sister, Gail Shadburn.

Survivors include his grandson, Brock Richards, four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Colton, Rhett, and Patricia. One brother, Larry Dean Richards, two sisters, Norma Holiman and Connie Frew, and her husband, Daniel. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Butch Richards will be conducted on Sunday, November 23rd at 3 pm from the Agape Baptist Church with Rev. Mitchell McDougle and Rev. Winford Casey Officiating.
