January 29, 1932 - December 13, 2025
Mr. Edward Lee “Ed” Stone, age 93, of Fairmount, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Piedmont Mountainside Healthcare in Jasper, Georgia.
Ed was born January 29, 1932, in Jasper, Georgia, a son of the late Jessie Lee Stone and Minne Agnes Young Stone. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Herb Stone.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Ed retired from QRS, Inc. (Rubber Plant) in Jasper, Georgia, after more than thirty-two years of faithful service. Outside of work, Ed found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for gardening, spending countless hours tending his garden, feeding the birds, and enjoying the outdoors he cherished so much. He especially enjoyed working on old cars, raising game chickens, and lending a helping hand to his friend Freddy Martel with cattle. Evenings often found Ed relaxing with his beloved old western movies, with Raw Hide being a favorite.
Above all else, Ed treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather. Time spent with family was his greatest joy, whether outdoors or gathered together sharing stories and laughter.
Ed is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Lois Roxie Hancock Stone of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Kim Stone and Chuck Hilton; sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan Kylely and Cindy Stone, Derick Stone and Amanda Lloyd; grandchildren, Cody and Viola Hilton, Kane Stone, Kaylee Stone; great-grandchildren, Zylan, Carter, Caiden, Carson, and Layla Hilton, all of Fairmount, Georgia; sister-in-law, Doris Stone of Hill City, Georgia; along with several cousins and other relatives.
