Edward Louis Fowler
February 8, 1949 — February 28, 2026

Edward Louis Fowler, 77, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026. He was born in Lafayette, Georgia, on February 8, 1949, to the late John and Hazel Prince Fowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Alton Fowler, William Fowler, Grady Fowler, Raymond Fowler, and J.D. and Shirley Fowler; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Jean Fowler, Judie Fowler, and Eileen Fowler; sisters, Vera Brown, Evelyn McEntyre, and Helen Kirby; brother in laws, Ray Kirby, Charles Brown, and Jimmy McEntyre.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors and staying active, always finding something to keep him busy. He loved playing golf with his close friends, and one of his greatest joys was being “Paw Paw” to his beloved grandchildren. He treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow.

He was a respected carpenter in the community for much of his life and took great pride in his craft. Among his many accomplishments, he built his own home, a lasting testament to his skill and dedication that his family will always cherish.

Edward was a member of Reeves Baptist Church.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janice O’Kelley Fowler; son and daughter-in-law, David and Torrie Fowler; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Wayne Stokes; brothers, Ralph Fowler, Robert Fowler and Billy Fowler; sisters-in-law, Sheila Fowler; grandchildren, Devin Fowler, Karter Fowler, and Blake Fowler; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Burns and Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Gil Fowler, Lee Fowler, Bryan Fowler, Jamey Kirby, Jamie Rickett, and Les Prine. Honorary pallbearers are Milton Stewart, Joe Stewart, Ernie Smith, Gerome Crump, Vic Bohannon, Randy Johns, Randall Roberts, Pat Rasbury, Kevin Cunningham, Russ Edwards, Jeff Henderson, Randy Johns, Randall Roberts, Pat Rasbury, Kevin Cunningham, Russ Edwards, Jeff Langston and Tim Langston.

The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Edward Louis Fowler.
