Elizabeth Christine Roland Watkins
October 12, 1935 — February 12, 2026

Elizabeth Christine Roland Watkins, age 90 of Resaca, GA, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at her residence.

Christine was born on October 12, 1935 in Pickens County, GA, daughter of the late John William Roland and Myrtle Bramlett Roland. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by: her second husband, Luther Wheat; third husband, Dale Watkins; grandson, Ryan Patania; and siblings, Mary Ray Holsomback, Wallace Roland, J.W. “Bud” Roland, Frank Roland, and Sue Lofty. Christine was a member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Christine is survived by: her children, Clay (Christina) Wheat, Trisha Daffron, Vickie (Michael) Patania, and Alvin (Patricia) Long; two brothers, Travis Roland and Caris (Marilyn) Roland; two sisters, Faye Durham and Gwen Griffin; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Homespun Hospice and her caregiver Bobbi Mulkey.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at 4 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitfield County with Reverend Tim Sanford officiating.
