Chief Master Sergeant Frank Herschel Hudson, USAF, RET., age 73, of Adairsville, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 5:33am, at AdventHealth Gordon, Calhoun. Frank is best known to the ones he loved the most as Papa.
Papa was born in Jackson, MS, on September 13, 1951, son of the late Herschel Jerome and Christine Warren Hudson. He was of Christian faith and a proud veteran, having retired from the United States Air Force after honorably serving his country for over 28 years. While proudly serving his country, Papa built a career in sales in the building materials industry, working many years for Williams Bros. Lumber in Cobb County. Papa will be remembered for his passionate patriotism, always quick to defend his country and flag, and his deep love for his family. He enjoyed golfing, grilling, and working in his yard and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Papa loved life to the fullest and never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Liz Holbrook and Theresa Miller.
Survivors include his wife of over 30 years, Annette Griffith Hudson, of Adairsville; three daughters and one son, Kelly (Jeff) Walker of Waleska, Tracy (John) Bohanon of Rockmart, and Kerry (Kenneth) Estep of Canton; and Shane (Amber) Whittle of Hiram; six grandchildren, Kaylee (Micah) Glover, Savanah Walker, Caden Walker, Addyson Estep, Ansleigh Estep, and Mattie Whittle; and a great-grandson, Rowan Glover.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 11:30am until the funeral hour at 1:00pm.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 8, 2025 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with full military rites and Pastor David Stein officiating.
