George William “Billy” Moore Jr.
July 10, 1949 — December 5, 2025

George William “Billy” Moore Jr., 76, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025. He was born in Newnan, Georgia, on July 10, 1949, to the late George William Moore Sr. and Jeanette Dunevan Moore.

Billy loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and had a passion for photography. He worked for Big Star Supermarket for 25 years. He also worked at Mikasa for several years. Billy was also the owner and operator of Moore’s Photography and Fat Boy's Collectables. He later retired from Walmart, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Wyatt Moore; daughter, Dana Moore Woodard (Timothy); grandchildren, Madison Woodard and Mason Woodard; brother, Paul Moore (Debbie); and sister, Donna Moore Ray; Brother in law, and sister in law, Gene and Cheryl Erwin. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as his special fur buddy, Lil Rascal.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church, 1170 Rome Road SW, Calhoun, Georgia 30701.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 2:00 PM from Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Adair officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Pallbearers are Mason Woodard, Alton Scoggins, Jimmy Moore, Danny Parker, Scottie Moore, and Dwayne Muse. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Trinity Baptist Church and J.W. Moore.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church in Billy’s memory.
