Glenn E. Cassell, Sr.
July 24, 1928 — December 20, 2025

Glenn E. Cassell, Sr., age 97 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at The Fountains of Calhoun.

Glenn was born on July 24, 1928, in Winchester, KY, the son of the late Ed and Irene Cassell. In addition to his parents, Glenn was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Cassell, and his sister, Jo Cassell. He was a well-known coach in Hall and Dooly counties, receiving national recognition through his induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame, where he was once ranked as the number one coach in the state of Georgia, amassing 1244 wins and 4 state championships. He was inducted into the GACA Coaches Hall of Fame in 2003, National Coach of the Year in 1990

Glenn is survived by: three sons, Marcus “Ted” Cassell and his wife Deborah, Glenn Cassell, Jr. and his wife April, and David Kim Cassell and his wife Jeanie; one daughter, Cara Mary Jo Cassell and her partner Kerri Williams; sister, Peggy Griggs and her husband Jim; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at a later date.
