Kay Bearden Rutledge
March 10, 1937 — March 3, 2026

Kay Bearden Rutledge, 88, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away at her residence, surrounded by her girls, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. She was born on March 10, 1937, in Calhoun, Georgia, to the late Floyd and Artie Bearden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Rutledge; brother, Donald Bearden; sisters, Betty Garrett and Rita McBrayer.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Dodd (Larry Lovingood), Kelly (Gary) Parker, Tammy (Randy) Tetzlaff; brothers, Ray Bearden, Lamar Bearden, Jerry (Nancy) Bearden; 5 grandchildren, Erin (Brian) Childers, Miranda Parker Pass, Derek (Ashley) Parker, Alex Tetzlaff, Seth Tetzlaff; 7 great-grandchildren, Allie Childers (Paul), Trevor Childers, Savannah Pass (Seth), Cooper Pass, Athens Parker, Carter Parker, Kolby Parker; 2 step great-grandchildren, Kayden Poole, Braylen Glover; 1 expected great-great-granddaughter, Sage Swartz; numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and friends also survive.

Kay was a lifelong resident of Gordon County. Her two passions in life were her family and her church. She loved the Lord and was an active member of Damascus Baptist Church. She was the caretaker of the family, and always made sure everyone had what they needed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home and from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Damascus Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM from Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Bearden and Rev. Terry Trivette officiating. Ronnie McBrayer will be in charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery with Rev. Lamar Bearden officiating. Pallbearers serving are Derek Parker, Alex Tetzlaff, Seth Tetzlaff, Trevor Childers, Cooper Pass, and Athens Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Erin Childers, Miranda Parker Pass, Allie Childers, Savannah Pass, Carter Parker, and Kolby Parker.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made in her honor to the Damascus Baptist Church WMU.

The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Kay Bearden Rutledge.
