Martha Elaine Williams Moore, age 74 of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 in Caguas, Puerto Rico, after being hospitalized while on vacation.

Martha was born on April 21, 1950 in Cherokee County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Merl Vasser Williams and Evie Wood Williams. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by three brothers, James Williams of Coosa, Gordon Williams (child), and Winston Williams of Everett Springs; two sisters, Audrey Earle of Everett Springs and Nita Hess of Everett Springs; four brothers-in-law, Bill Everett of Rome, Richard Earle of Everett Springs, Leon Gilbert of Rome, and James Kelly of Dawsonville; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Williams of Everett Springs.

Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Martha never met a stranger and always had a meal ready so that everyone was fed. Martha was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church and retired from Calhoun City Schools after 25 years of dedicated service as School Nutrition Director. Martha enjoyed traveling, spending time with her sisters and friends, entertaining, and, most importantly, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. As the wife of a farmer, Martha delivered meals to the field, picked up supplies, checked on the crops with Joe, and supported all the activities that came along with farm life. After retirement, she would occasionally accompany Joe on trips to deliver feed. She thoroughly enjoyed meeting the customers and their families and always came back with a funny story.

Martha is survived by: her husband of 50 years, Joe Moore, her children, Leah Moore Duzy of Auburn, Alabama, and Andrew and Savannah Moore of Dalton; grandchildren, Sophia and Zachary Duzy, Jacob and Joseph Moore; sisters, Patricia Gilbert of Rome, Nettie Everett of Rome; brother, Gene Williams of Everett Springs; sisters-in-law, Joy Williams of Everett Springs and Linda Kelly of Dawsonville; and brother-in-law, Tim Moore of Resaca. Martha is also survived by almost 100 nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as many extended family members and close friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2 PM at Calhoun First Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia, with Dr. John Barber officiating. Burial will follow at Shoal Creek Baptist Church near Waleska, Georgia, at 4:30 PM in the church cemetery.
