Mildred Faye Watts
February 6, 1955 - February 1, 2026

Mrs. Mildred “Faye” Watts, age 70, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Northside Hospital in Canton, Georgia.

Faye was born on February 6, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Walter Frank Gibson, Jr. and Myrtle Amelia Miller Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Martin Watts, who passed away on July 11, 2013, and by her siblings, Deborah Batey and Douglas Batey.

Faye was a 1973 graduate of East High School in Memphis, Tennessee, and received her associate’s degree in interior design from Bauder School of Fashion in 1975. She was a devoted homemaker and later retired from Hampton Inn, where she faithfully worked for over thirty years.

Faye was an exceptionally beautiful lady, both inside and out. She always saw the best in others, never asked for much, and consistently gave more than she ever received. Kind, gentle, and encouraging, she always had an uplifting word for those around her. Faye cared deeply for others and lived her life with quiet grace and generosity. She loved animals and supported several humane societies throughout her life. Her compassion and sweetness left an impression on everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Walter Watts and Marissa Morgan of Calhoun, Georgia; daughters, Amy Day and Josh Day of Canton, Georgia and Allison Kennamer and Josh Perkins of Bishop, Georgia; grandchildren, Landon Day, Conner Kennamer, Payten Day, Gavin Day, and Will Kennamer; sister, Susan Gibson of Memphis, Tennessee; her special companions, a little black cat named Midnight, and her dogs, Ginger and Max; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Mildred Faye Watts will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. noon at Johnson Cemetery, with Reverend Mark Owens officiating.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Fairmount Chapel on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
