Peggy Whitfield Taggart, age 74, of Chelsea, Alabama, and formerly of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, September 13th in the St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham.
Peggy was born in Gordon County on April 26, 1951, the daughter of the late J.B. Whitfield and Robbie Lee "Billie" Wilson Whitfield. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Erica Taggart, brother, Danny Whitfield, and her sister, Linda Anderson. Peggy was a graduate of Calhoun High School Class of 1969.
She is survived by her husband, Lance Taggart, her brother-in-law, Rev. Calvin Anderson, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 18th, at 3 PM from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 PM until 3 PM prior to the service.
