Richard Lee Bone
August 5, 1933 — April 23, 2025

Richard Lee Bone, age 91, passed away peacefully leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, laughter, and quiet wisdom.

Born August 5, 1933, in Adel, GA, Richard lived a life defined by dedication and integrity. He was the valedictorian of his high school class, setting the tone early for a life committed to excellence. He served honorably in the United States Air Force, embodying patriotism and selflessness during his years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ray Bone; brother, Douglas Bone; and brother in law, Benson Greeson.

He built both a career and a family with steady hands and a generous heart. As a millwright for over 50 years, he worked with unmatched skill and diligence, earning the respect of everyone who had the pleasure of working beside him. His work ethic was surpassed only by his devotion as a husband and father—roles he held with unwavering support and pride.

Richard found joy in the simple, meaningful pleasures of life. He was a fisherman, always happy with a rod in hand and a story ready to be told. His garden was a reflection of his spirit—patiently tended, quietly beautiful, and always growing. Whether he was reeling in a catch or coaxing vegetables from the soil, he did it all with the same gentle spirit and meticulous care. His subtle sense of humor and laughter were contagious. He had a gift for making people feel at ease, and his wit, often delivered with a mischievous grin, left a trail of smiles wherever he went.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Dickie and Kita Bone, Larry and Debbie Bone, Jason and Terri Bone; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Tommy Holden; sister, Mary Greeson; sister-in-law, Sue Bone; grandchildren, Josh (Leanne) Bone, Allison Bone, Seth (Brittany) Bone, Scott (Belle) Bone, Todd (Marie) Bone, Autum (Eric) Jackson, Tina (Robert) Miller and Dylan Bone; great-grandchildren, Asa Bone, Bryn Bone, Lillie Hall, Will Hall, Ivy Bone, Izzie Bone, Karson Bone, Karter Bone, Marlee Jackson, Kinsley Jackson, and Annamarie Miller. All will carry his stories, his strength, and his laughter forward.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow on Sunday at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Josh Bone officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
