    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Tony “Poppy” Lee Hunter

Tony “Poppy” Lee Hunter, 59, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. He was born on August 28, 1965, to the late Henry Harold Hunter and Martha Nell Goforth.

Tony loved his tractors and his grandkids and great-grandkids. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and riding his motorcycle with his wife. He was a member of Adairsville Church of God.

Tony is survived by his wife, Tonya Hunter; daughters and sons-in-law, Abby Hunter and Bradley Argo, Rebecca Hunter, Brandi and Dalton VanHouten, and Ashley Redd; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Linda Hunter, Jerry and Cindy Hunter; sisters and brother-in-law, Debbie and Samy Acrey; grandchildren, Austin and Desi Hunter, Joseph and Keyera Hunter, Chanler and Shiloh Hunter, Haley Ball and Haven Colston, Grace and Dylan Ball, Ashlynn “BayBay” Hunter, Rylan Woody, Shawn Hall, and Little Reggie Redd; great-grandchildren, Kory, Asher, Willow, and Paxton; fur-babies, Bella and Niggle; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Coomer and Shane Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Stephen “Austin” Hunter, Joseph Hunter, Chanler Hunter, Dylan Ball, Rylan Woody, and Alan Hunter. Honorary pallbearers are Bradley Hunter, Shawn Hall, Austin Hunter, and Bradley Argo.
