William “Dale” Verdell PriceRome

Mr. William Verdell “Dale” Price, age 73, of 122 Thomas Road, NE, Rome, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at AdventHealth Redmond, Rome, GA.

Mr. Price was born in Rome, GA, on July 14, 1952, to the late William Herschel and Joyce Marie Shirey Price. He was a master mechanic, working for several garages before owning and operating his own business, Dale's Automotive, in Rome. Mr. Price also served his community as a school bus driver for the Floyd County School System for over 19 years. His passion for automobile racing, especially dirt track racing, was well known, and he was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Price was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters, Brenda Redden, JoAnn Manning, Kathy Coots, and Johnnie Mae Shepherd.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Paulette Marshall Price, of Rome; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim (Dawn) Price, and Stephen (Rachel) Price, all of Rome; seven grandchildren, Justin Hodge, Jonathan Price, Jennifer Emerine, Gage Price, William Helton, Elizabeth Price, and Lyla Kay Price; five great-grandchildren, Brynleigh Hodge, Freya Helton, Elijah Emerine, Emma Schabort, and Millie Emerine; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard (Brenda) Price of Rome; Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 2:00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Byron Chastain and Rev. Marvin Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.

Pallbearers include Andrew Price, Gary Manning, William Helton, Justin Hodge, and Jonathan Price.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Inc., Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. William “Dale” Price.
