CHS GATHERING FOR CLASSES OF 1966-1972 TO BE HELD WEEK OF OCTOBER 13: If you were a part of the graduating classes of Calhoun High School from 1966-1972, get together at the CHS Gathering the week of October 13th., to share updates and memories! Organizers say there is a fun week planned and hope everyone in those classes can join in!
The main event is on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 5 p.m. at Michael’s Wholesale Flooring. Emcees for the event are Lloyd DeFoor and Dianne Kirby. Music by Travis Stephens and friends, with special guests, including Joe Hatton singing ‘Little Red Riding Hood.’ Dinner will be at Taco House (suggested donation of $15). BOB and folding chair if you’d like a guaranteed seat!
On Tuesday, Oct. 14, there will be a Prayer & Share at the Calhoun Depot downtown at 6 p.m. This will feature the Travis Stephens Family Band playing favorite Bluegrass Gospel Songs!

Since 2020, the price of beef has jumped more than 50%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. And the trend isn’t slowing down. The U.S. Department of Agriculture points to a shrinking cattle population as a key reason. In fact, the USDA expects beef production to drop by 4% this year, and another 2% next year. But even as cattle herds shrink, America’s appetite for steak and burgers remains strong. And that ongoing demand, paired with tighter supply, is driving prices up at the grocery store—and on restaurant menus.
Two local brothers- both from Adairsvillle – were recognized with Southern Gospel Music’s most prestigious awards. The brothers are Isaac Moore, he is a member of The Inspirations. The group swept the awards ceremony with Isaac being selected as the top tenor in Gospel music for the second year in a row. His younger brother, Elisha Moore was recognized along with his famous group – Jeff Tolbert and Primitive Road as this year’s best band.
