The Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Plant Protection team is conducting surveillance, removing nests, and investigating affected areas, but stresses that public reporting is the most effective tool for early intervention. Calhoun Man Sentenced in Deadly 2023 Motorcycle Crashes
A Calhoun man has been sentenced in connection with a 2023 series of motorcycle crashes on U.S. 411 that killed two people and severely injured others. Ronald Grady Dickson, 76, pled guilty and received 10 years in prison followed by 15 years on probation. Investigators determined he was driving under the influence at an estimated 70 mph when he struck three motorcycles, causing catastrophic injuries and fatalities. Victims’ families shared emotional testimonies at sentencing, highlighting the long-lasting impact of impaired driving on the community.
