GSP Releases Details on I-75 Wrong-Way Crash
The Georgia State Patrol has released preliminary findings from Wednesday night’s multi-vehicle crash on I-75 northbound near mile marker 311 in Gordon County. Investigators say a Mitsubishi Mirage left its lane, struck a guardrail, and re-entered the interstate, triggering a chain-reaction crash involving several vehicles. Multiple people suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The interstate was shut down for about an hour while crews cleared the scene.
Qualifying Ends Today for Local Offices
The deadline to qualify for several Gordon County offices is 12:00 noon today (Friday, March 6) at the Gordon County Board of Elections Office in the courthouse.
Offices on the ballot include County Commissioner Districts 2 and 4 and Board of Education Posts 1, 3, 5, and 7.
At this time, no candidates have qualified for Board of Education Post 5.
GNTC Waiving Application Fees in March
Georgia Northwestern Technical College is hosting Free Application Month for the Summer 2026 semester. The usual $25 application fee is waived through March 31 using the code MARCH26. The admissions deadline is April 27, and classes begin May 18.
