Gordon County Commissioners Meeting Ahead
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, February 3, at the Judicial Building Assembly Room located at 101 South Piedmont Street.

  • Work Session: 5 p.m.

  • Regular Session: 6 p.m.

Commissioners are expected to consider several administrative, budgetary, and public safety-related items.

New Community Events Center Department Proposed
County administration is requesting approval of a resolution to establish a Community Events Center Department, along with a director position. The proposal includes a $50,000 budget transfer from the General Fund Contingency to support salary and wages, employee benefits, legal services, communications, operational supplies, and small equipment.

Emergency and Disaster Preparedness
Commissioners will consider awarding a three-year debris removal proposal to Southern Disaster Recovery, DRC Emergency Services LLC, and Crowder Gulf to support response and recovery efforts following severe weather or emergency events.
The board will also consider ratifying a contract with North Georgia Consulting Group for development of the county’s 2027 Hazard Mitigation Plan. Acceptance of the award for the plan was previously approved in August 2025.

Public Safety and Infrastructure Items
E 9-1-1 officials are requesting approval of a $3,784 annual service plan and preventative maintenance agreement with GB Technologies Inc. for UPS units, budgeted for Fiscal Year 2026.
Commissioners will also review a proposed $22,000 budget amendment increasing funding to a designated general ledger account, as well as a $28,054 repair quote from TK Elevator Corporation for elevator repairs at the Gordon County Courthouse.
