Red Cross Urges Holiday Blood Donations
The American Red Cross is calling on donors to give blood now to maintain a stable supply through the busy holiday season and into early 2026, with type O, A negative, and B negative donations especially needed. Record travel and weather disruptions often reduce donations at this time of year. Local blood drives are scheduled in Bartow, Floyd, Gordon, and Polk counties through early January. Donors can schedule appointments online, via the Red Cross app, or by phone. Holiday donors will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt, and early January donors may win a trip to Super Bowl LX.
