  • Homestead Exemption Deadline Approaching
    Gordon County homeowners have until April 1, 2026 to apply for a homestead exemption. Officials say a variety of state and local exemptions are available, including additional savings for residents ages 65, 70, and — new this year — 75.
    Homeowners who recently reached one of these age milestones are encouraged to request a “homestead checkup” to ensure they’re receiving the maximum benefit.
    Applications are open now and will also be accepted during the property tax appeal period later this spring.

  • Quality of Life Committee Meeting Set
    The Gordon County Board of Commissioners will hold a Quality of Life Committee meeting on Thursday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m.
    The meeting will take place at the Gordon County Administration Building, 201 N. Wall Street in Calhoun, in the first-floor conference room.
    The meeting is open to the public.
