High school football is back in action tonight with several local teams hitting the field. Sonoraville High School travels to face North Cobb Christian, while Calhoun High School is also on the road for a challenging matchup against Cartersville. Gordon Central High School has the week off, and Adairsville High School will be at home, hosting Woodland in front of their hometown fans.
The countdown is over as the 2025 Northwest Georgia Fair officially opens tonight at the Cherokee Capitol Fairgrounds on Highway 53 toward Rome. Running for nine nights through Saturday, September 13, the fair promises fun for the whole family with midway rides, classic fair food, livestock shows, games, animals, pageants, fashion shows, and nightly entertainment. Admission is just $5, and children five and under get in free. The price of admission includes all shows, and guests can choose between unlimited ride wristbands each evening or purchasing individual tickets for rides. It’s set to be a festive nine nights filled with community fun and excitement.
