Gordon County Commissioners to Meet
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners will hold a General Administration Committee meeting at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the County Administration Building, 201 N Wall Street, Calhoun. The meeting is open to the public.
Calhoun City Council Meetings Scheduled
The Calhoun City Council will hold a work session at 12:00 noon and a council meeting at 7:00 PM on Monday, September 22, 2025. The work session will take place at 700 West Line Street, and the council meeting at 109 South King Street, Depot Community Room.
Man Sentenced for Child Molestation
Tony Nataniel Hasty, Jr., 41, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for crimes against a child, part of an 80-year total sentence, following a Gordon County jury conviction on charges of criminal attempt to commit sexual battery and child molestation. Hasty must also register as a sex offender. The case was prosecuted by the Gordon County District Attorney’s Office with evidence from the Sheriff’s Office and the Child Advocacy Center.
