Gordon County Commissioners Meeting
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Judicial Building Assembly Room, beginning with a 5 p.m. Work Session followed by the 6 p.m. Regular Session. Commissioners will review agenda items, receive updates, and take formal action on county business. The meeting is open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend.

GNTC Fall Commencement This Thursday
Around 300 GNTC students will graduate Thursday, Dec. 4, during the 2025 Fall Commencement at the Dalton Convention Center. The ceremony begins at 6 p.m. and includes remarks from school leaders, a keynote by Instructor of the Year Jennifer Dixon, recognition of honor graduates and veterans, and the conferring of degrees, diplomas, and certificates.

LIHEAP Energy Assistance Now Open
The LIHEAP winter heating assistance program opens today for seniors 65+ and medically homebound residents, with general applications beginning Jan. 2. Funding is first-come, first-served. Eligible households must meet income guidelines and apply through their local Community Action Agency. Required documents include a recent heating bill, proof of citizenship, Social Security numbers, and recent income details.

GEM Theatre Celebrates Giving Tuesday
Calhoun’s historic GEM Theatre is marking Giving Tuesday by urging community support for its nonprofit operations and year-round arts programming. Donations, memberships, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities help preserve the landmark and sustain concerts, events, and free movie offerings. Contributions can be made online or directly through the theatre.
