Early Voting Underway in Gordon County

Early voting for the Nov. 4, 2025, General Municipal and Special Elections is now open through Oct. 31 at the Gordon County Courthouse (Mon–Fri, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 18 & 25, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.).
Races include City Council seats in Calhoun and Fairmount, plus countywide referendums on homestead exemptions, a proposed 1% sales tax (FLOST), and renewal of the education ESPLOST.


Two Gordon County Schools Earn State & National Honors

W.L. Swain Elementary was named a 2025 Title I Reward School by the Georgia Department of Education, placing it among the top 5% of schools statewide for academic progress.
Sonoraville Elementary received the Apple Distinguished School designation, recognizing its innovative use of technology in education — a distinction shared by fewer than 15 schools statewide.


Support Gordon County 4-H with a Farm-Fresh Produce Box

Gordon County 4-H is partnering with Front Door Produce to offer 20-lb boxes of Georgia-grown fall vegetables. Orders are due by Nov. 7, with pickup the week of Nov. 17.
