    Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations between one quarter and three quarters of an inch possible.

    Portions of east central, north central, northeast, and northwest Georgia.

    From late Friday night through Monday morning.
    IMPACTS
    Expect power outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.

In today’s news:

An officer involved shooting occurred last night near the intersection of Highway 53 and Bellwood Road. Sources say DEA agents were involved in the non-fatal shooting. No officers were injured. Investigations will continue by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful will soon have recycling roll-offs at all six county compactor sites. Judy Peterson and Beth Vaughn will be on soon to talk about the importance and ease of recycling.
