    Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations between one quarter and three quarters of an inch possible.

    Portions of east central, north central, northeast, and northwest Georgia.

    From late Friday night through Monday morning.
    IMPACTS
    Expect power outages and tree damage due to the ice. Travel could be impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.

Today at 3 p.m., the Gordon County Board of Commissioners has a public meeting for the budget for our new fiscal year. That meeting is followed by the regular meeting – work session at 5 p.m., meeting at 6 p.m. – with a broadband expansion update, three public hearings for zoning changes, and a vote on building [or finishing] the Ranger Community Playground.  Click here for the agenda.

Tonight from 6p.m. until 9p.m., Gordon County Emergency Management hosts Praise and Preparedness at The Depot. This is a cooperative approach to disasters between EMA and churches.
