Georgia is joining forces with Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina for “Operation Southern Slow Down” — a major speed enforcement effort running July 14th through July 20th across the Southeast.
The goal? To crack down on dangerous driving and reduce deadly crashes during one of the most dangerous travel weeks of the year.
To kick off the campaign, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office, along with the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Georgia State Patrol, and others, will host a press event Monday, July 14th at 10 a.m. Eastern at the I-75 Welcome Center in East Ridge, Tennessee.
Officials will share crash data, enforcement plans, and safety tips to help save lives.
Drivers — slow down, stay alert, and buckle up. Speed kills, and law enforcement will be out in force.
