Gordon County Schools has announced an impressive graduation rate for the Class of 2025, with 95.5 percent of seniors earning diplomas. Sonoraville High School reported a rate of 96 percent, while Gordon Central High School reached 94.8 percent.

According to the Georgia Department of Education, Gordon County’s four-year graduation rate stands at 94.53 percent, surpassing the state average of 87.2 percent by more than seven percentage points. The department calculates the rate using a federally required four-year cohort method, which tracks students from the beginning of ninth grade and accounts for transfers in and out before graduation.

This marks more than a decade in which Gordon County Schools has consistently exceeded state averages.

Superintendent Alice Mashburn praised the accomplishment, crediting the hard work of students, educators, families, and the community. “Congratulations to the Class of 2025. Their achievement reflects the strength of an entire community united with one purpose: student success,” she said.

District leaders emphasized that the results reflect a focus on rigorous academics, strong support from teachers and staff, and partnerships with families and community members. Officials said the milestone demonstrates Gordon County Schools’ ongoing commitment to preparing students for lifelong success.
