The City of Calhoun has announced several downtown road closures for Rocktober Fest, taking place Saturday, October 11. Roads in the downtown area will be closed from 5:00 a.m. until midnight to accommodate festival activities and ensure public safety.

The following roads will be closed to traffic throughout the event:

  • Wall Street / Highway 41 (from Hicks Street to Line Street)

  • Court Street (to Park Avenue)

  • Oothcalooga Street and Harlan Street (one-way streets)

Motorists will still have access to Park Avenue and Piedmont Street, which will remain open. The Park Avenue parking lot and Piedmont Street parking deck will also stay open for public use.

City officials are reminding drivers that any vehicles left inside the closure area may be towed. Drivers are also urged not to move or drive around cones or barricades, as they are placed to maintain safety for festivalgoers and event crews.

“Rocktober Fest is one of our community’s favorite events, and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping downtown safe and enjoyable for all,” the city said in a statement.

The all-day celebration will feature live music, food, and family-friendly entertainment in the heart of downtown Calhoun.
