The City of Calhoun Animal Shelter is inviting the community to its Saturday Stroll & Adoption Event on October 25th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents are encouraged to stop by, meet the shelter pets, and enjoy some outdoor time with adoptable dogs.
This special Saturday opening comes in response to community interest in weekend adoption opportunities. Visitors can walk or play with the shelter dogs, meet potential furry companions, or simply spend time showing love and support to animals waiting for their forever homes.
Event Guidelines:
Closed-toe shoes are required
Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
All attendees must sign a waiver
Adoption & Service Fees:
Adoption fee: $65 (includes rabies vaccine and spay/neuter certificate)
Spay/Neuter Certificates: $75 for cats | $85 for dogs (includes rabies vaccine)
Rabies-only certificate: $12
Organizers encourage everyone—whether adopting or just visiting—to come out and make a difference. Even a walk or a little playtime can brighten a shelter pet’s day.
