Calhoun Chief of Police Tony Pyle has confirmed that a pedestrian was killed overnight after being struck by a vehicle.

According to Chief Pyle, a male individual in a wheelchair was crossing Highway 53 Spur (Oothcalooga Street) near the Dollar General when the incident occurred.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Additional details are expected to be released later today.
