Calhoun’s historic GEM Theatre is pushing forward with its annual Socks and Toboggans Drive, an effort aimed at helping local residents stay warm during the winter months by collecting new socks and winter hats.

The campaign received a significant boost earlier today when former Calhoun resident Mitchell Blaylock returned to town to donate an impressive 1,100 toboggans. Organizers say the generous contribution will make a meaningful impact for families in need as colder weather moves in.

There is still time for the community to contribute. Donations of new socks and toboggans can be dropped off throughout the week at several local locations, including the Calhoun Aquatic Center, Pickleball 706, Wolves Den Barbell Club, Calhoun Coffee Club, Cassie’s on Wall Street, Cheyenne’s Boutique, Gift of Season, Pete’s Music City, and Tot Roost & Teens.
