Georgia State School Superintendent Richard Woods visited Calhoun City Schools to formally recognize Calhoun Middle School as a Math Leader School, highlighting the school’s outstanding achievement in mathematics.
During the visit, Superintendent Woods presented official recognition ribbons from the Georgia Department of Education, celebrating the school’s academic success and commitment to excellence in math instruction.
The Math Leader designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate strong achievement and growth in mathematics performance. Calhoun Middle School earned the highest level of recognition — Distinguished Achievement — after 100 percent of students in Mrs. Megan Woodman’s Honors Algebra I class scored proficient or above during the 2024–2025 school year.
School officials say the recognition reflects the dedication of both students and educators to maintaining high academic standards and continuing to build strong math skills across the district.
