Gordon County Schools to Name Board Room After Bobby Hall
The Gordon County Schools Board of Education will officially rename its board room in honor of longtime board member Bobby Hall. Hall, a Calhoun native and Vietnam War veteran, served on the board for nearly three decades and is the longest-serving member in the system’s history. The Bobby Hall Board Room will recognize his leadership, dedication to students and staff, and lasting impact on the school system and community.

Becky Hulsey Named Principal of Red Bud Elementary School
The Gordon County Schools Board of Education has approved Becky Hulsey as the new principal of Red Bud Elementary School. Hulsey currently serves as assistant principal at Red Bud Middle School and previously held leadership and teaching roles throughout the district. She will replace longtime principal Debra Brock, who is retiring at the end of the school year after leading the school since 2016.

Nickelsville Road Railroad Crossing in Resaca Closed March 10–12
Road crews will close the State Route 136/Nickelsville Road railroad crossing at U.S. Highway 41 in Resaca from March 10 through March 12, weather permitting. A detour will route traffic south on Highway 41 to SR 225, then north back to SR 136. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
