Gordon Central High School has been recognized as a 2026 AP Honor School by Richard Woods, earning distinction in two categories: AP Access & Support School and AP Challenge School.

The honors recognize schools that provide students with access to rigorous Advanced Placement coursework while supporting them in achieving success in college-level academic programs.

Advanced Placement, commonly known as AP, offers high school students the opportunity to take challenging courses designed to prepare them for college and career success. Students who earn qualifying scores on AP exams may also be eligible to receive college credit.

Gordon Central was named an AP Access & Support School for expanding opportunities for students to participate in AP coursework and for supporting student achievement on AP exams.

The school also earned recognition as an AP Challenge School, a distinction awarded to smaller schools that offer AP exams across core academic areas including English, mathematics, science, and social studies.

School officials praised the efforts of students, teachers, counselors, and administrators for helping make the recognition possible and for their continued commitment to academic excellence.

The recognition highlights Gordon Central’s ongoing focus on preparing students for future college and career opportunities through advanced academic programs and strong instructional support.
