The holiday season is about to get a little more festive in Calhoun as the Snowman Spectacular returns for 2026, bringing holiday fun, creativity, and community spirit to Gordon County.
Presented by Explore Calhoun-Gordon County in partnership with the City of Calhoun Recreation Department, the annual event invites local businesses, organizations, schools, churches, and families to show off their creativity in a community-wide snowman-building competition. And the best part? No snow is required!
The festivities kick off Friday, December 4, with the Frosty Fest Launch Party from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Calhoun Recreation Department, located at 110 Recreation Drive in Calhoun.
The family-friendly celebration will feature food trucks, carnival-style games, train rides, a human snow globe, Santa’s Workshop, live entertainment, a snow play area, and the grand unveiling of this year’s snowman creations.
The fun doesn’t stop after the launch party. From December 4 through December 13, the creative snowman displays will remain on exhibit along the paved pathway connecting the Black & Yellow playground and the large parking lot at the Calhoun Recreation Department.
Visitors are encouraged to stroll through the displays and cast their votes for their favorite snowmen.
Participants will compete for People’s Choice Awards, with first, second, and third-place winners determined by public voting. Judges’ Choice Awards will also recognize the top three entries, selected by a panel of outside volunteer judges based on creativity and overall appeal.
Snowmen must be constructed from weather-resistant materials to withstand the outdoor elements throughout the event.
Now in its fourth year, Snowman Spectacular has become a holiday tradition that brings the Calhoun-Gordon County community together while giving local businesses, schools, churches, organizations, and families an opportunity to showcase their creativity.
Participants in the snowman competition can also join Frosty Fest as vendors at no additional cost.
Make plans to bring the entire family to the Frosty Fest Launch Party on December 4 and enjoy the Snowman Spectacular displays through December 13.
It’s a fun and festive way to celebrate the holiday season in Calhoun, and you won’t need a single snowflake to join in the fun!
