One of the region’s largest annual shopping events is set to return this weekend as the Dixie Highway Yard Sale takes place Friday, June 5, through Sunday, June 7.
The popular event spans approximately 90 miles along the historic Dixie Highway, also known as U.S. Highway 41, and features hundreds of yard sales hosted by residents, businesses and vendors throughout Northwest Georgia.
Communities participating in the event include Ringgold, Tunnel Hill, Rocky Face, Dalton, Resaca, Calhoun, Adairsville, Cassville, Cartersville, Emerson, Acworth, Kennesaw and Marietta.
Each year, bargain hunters travel from across Georgia and neighboring states in search of antiques, collectibles, household items, tools, furniture, clothing and other unique finds. The event has become a tradition for both shoppers and sellers, drawing large crowds to communities along the historic route.
Officials are reminding motorists to exercise caution throughout the three-day event, particularly in Gordon County, where hundreds of people are expected to line portions of Highway 41. Heavy traffic is anticipated as shoppers make frequent stops at yard sales along the route.
Drivers are encouraged to remain alert for pedestrians, slowed traffic and vehicles entering and exiting roadside sale locations.
The Dixie Highway Yard Sale has grown into one of the largest community yard sale events in the Southeast, offering an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to explore local communities while searching for bargains and hidden treasures.
The event runs Friday, June 5, through Sunday, June 7, with yard sales taking place throughout the day at participating locations along the Dixie Highway corridor.
